Stand Up to Antisemitism
What Federation is Doing
From keeping people and our community spaces safe, to facilitating a proud and vibrant Detroit Jewish identity, combating antisemitism in all its forms remains a top priority for Federation.
Community Security
Jewish Federation funds and works closely with Jewish Community Security, Inc. (JCSI), our community’s security provider. JCSI was established to ensure the safety and security of the Detroit Jewish community. JCSI’s highly trained and experienced officers are stationed at Jewish Day Schools, summer camps, campuses and buildings throughout the community. JCSI collaborates with local and national law enforcement entities as well as the Secure Community Network and Jewish community security programs across the region.
On Campus
University campuses have long been the site of radical anti-Israel activism. Since 10/7, this activity has increased in its frequency and intensity. Jewish students report that campus climates have become increasingly unwelcoming to them. Federation supports Hillels – centers of Jewish life on campus – at universities statewide. Hillel professionals work with students to empower them to navigate difficult issues while building strong connections with other Jewish students to fulfill their spiritual, educational and social needs.

- Michigan State University Hillel
- Hillel Campus Alliance of Michigan (serving numerous campuses beyond southeast Michigan)
