Detroit’s Response to Date 

  • Dror Israel: Running 50 evacuee centers serving over 25,000 evacuees
  • HaGal Sheli: Funds for the establishment of 10 groups in their “Waves of Hope” Emergency Trauma Intervention program for people with PTSD
  • Hostages and Missing Families Forum: A volunteer-based organization laser-focused on bringing the captives back home, providing families with holistic support and professional assistance in the persistent efforts to rescue their loved ones and bring them home
  • Friends of Be’eri: Created to assist the people of the Be’eri kibbutz by providing financial assistance to individual members, rebuilding public buildings and redoing landscaping
  • “Rays of Light”: Dana Dvorin, a well-known Israeli TV personality and social activist, is producing a series of short videos of personal stories from women who survived the attacks. The entire team of actors, writers, artists, translators, and directors are volunteering to help the women share their experiences and build a library of eyewitness testimonies
  • Citizen Impact: Digitized system for survivors to understand their rights and receive financial aid
  • Larger Than Life: Medical needs, emotional care, humanitarian aid, and transportation for 68 children from Gaza border who have cancer and are in active treatments
  • Operational support for the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem 
  • Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center: Providing an advanced course from Henry Ford Medical Center on the latest VR technology to anesthesiologists in Israel 
  • Sheba Medical Center Tal Hashomer: A new rehabilitation center with the primary goal of providing comprehensive care and rehabilitation services to people injured in the current war 

Including the purchase and delivery of protective eyewear, boots, sleeping bags and other supplies. 

  • Safe Houses: Renovation and reinforcement of public safe houses
  • Israeli Camper Program: To bring extra campers from our region, and evacuees from Gaviim and the North of Israel to Tamarack Camps for respite
