JDC Entwine works to build a generation of young Jews who lead and live a life of action with global Jewish responsibility at its core. Through transformative global service and travel experiences, innovative educational programs and tailored leadership development opportunities — young people can explore, find meaning and act. Since 2017, Entwine has included an annual trip for LGBTQ+ leaders. The trips have engaged participants with JDC and global issues, as well as built a leadership cohort within this important segment of the Jewish community. While the 2020 trip was not possible due to COVID, we are hopeful that a late 2021/early 2022 trip can take place! Check out some photos from the 2019 trip to Buenos Aires.
In Israel, JDC works closely with The Aguda: Israel’s National LGBT Taskforce. Together, our organizations have worked to drastically improve the efficiency and increase the capacity of the many small NGOs that work under the Taskforce’s umbrella. JDC supports professional training, webinars, and guidance for the dozens of organizations working on behalf of Israel’s LGBTQ community. Most recently, JDC developed a “Seal of Effectiveness” specifically for these organizations and designed to strengthen the infrastructures operating within and on behalf of Israel’s LGBTQ community. So far, eight organizations have completed the process and received their “Midot Seal of Effectiveness!”
