Andy Doctoroff recently underwent open heart surgery, which is kind of ironic given that for his whole life he’s opened his heart to others to build relationships grounded in respect and seeing things in a shared light. It’s a humble way of viewing the world that has suited him well as Michigan’s point person for the new Gordie Howe International Bridge, his work as a Hebrew Free Loan board member, with the Isaac Agree Downtown Detroit Synagogue and Generations of Promise Focus Hope among other personal and professional accomplishments. His advice — it’s all about relationships, respect, communication and being real about admitting what you know and don’t know.
