LGBTQIA+ Resource Sheet

Adat Shalom

Our orientation at Adat Shalom is that we want everyone to feel it is their place to BE. Through these words we try to convey that our community is a spiritual home for those who seek it. Most of our LGBTQIA+ inclusion and visibility has come through structural efforts – we have completed Keshet trainings as a staff and our learning community is a proud ally. Our school registration forms are gender sensitive, and we have all gender/accessible bathrooms in the school and are developing two all gender/accessible bathrooms on our main level. Our two rabbis, Rabbi Aaron Bergman and Rabbi Blair Nosanwisch would be eager to meet with any LGBTQIA+ individuals/families looking for support and connection.

We celebrate the richness that comes from people of all backgrounds, abilities, identities, and experiences coming together. With open hearts and a deep commitment to belonging, we work to create spaces where everyone feels welcome and where everyone has the opportunity to find their Jewish center.

Temple Shir Shalom – Your Seat is Always Saved
At Temple Shir Shalom, being an open and welcoming community isn’t just our mission—it’s woven into the very fabric of who we are. We don’t just say everyone has a seat at our table; we mean it, and we live it every single day.
Our LGBTQ+ members don’t simply belong here—they make us stronger, richer, and more vibrant as a community. From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll find a congregation that celebrates your authentic self and recognizes the unique blessing you bring to our shared journey.
This commitment shows up in everything we do: how we design our forms and ask our questions, how we celebrate life’s milestones, and how we create sacred moments together. Whether you’re seeking spiritual connection, community support, or simply a place where you can be fully yourself, our rabbis and congregation are here with open hearts and outstretched hands.
