2024 Berman Award Nomination

2024 Mandell L. (z”l) & Madeleine H. (z”l) Berman Award for Outstanding Professional Jewish Communal Service

Criteria

The recipient of the Mandell L. and Madeleine H. Berman Award shall manifest the highest professional standards in his/her chosen field. The professional must have made a significant contribution to and for the general good of the Jewish community, demonstrated creativity, dedication, knowledge and care in the provision of services of the Jewish community. Moreover, in awarding the Berman Award, consideration shall be given to special professional innovations, which reflect quality professionalism.

Eligibility

All Jewish communal professionals employed by JFD or local constituent agencies of the Jewish Federation of Detroit who have been working in the Detroit Jewish community a minimum of five consecutive years, may be nominated for the Mandell L. and Madeleine H. Berman Award.

*The CEOs of the Jewish Federation of Detroit and its constituent agencies are not eligible to win this award.

** First consideration will be given to agency professionals, followed by the staff of the Jewish Federation. There may be exceptions when representatives from other Jewish organizations in Metro Detroit will be considered when warranted.
