Community Wide Security
Keeping our community safe and secure is of central importance to the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit. In 2006, in response to a growing need for coordinated security resources and training, Federation created the community-wide security program. Over the following 15 years, the program evolved and grew to meet the needs of the community with an emphasis on collaboration and best practices.
In March 2022, Federation established Jewish Community Security, Inc. (JCSI) – an independent security organization tasked with protecting the Jewish community of metropolitan Detroit. JCSI team members are stationed at schools, summer camps, campuses and buildings throughout the community. The team also assists synagogues and other Jewish institutions by providing consultation, education, and training to instill a culture of vigilance and safety.
