On Tuesday evening, shocking and offensive stickers—including one stating “(F**K) Zionism” and another depicting an assault weapon—were displayed at a Birmingham School District elementary school cultural night. At a time of rising antisemitism, when violent acts of hate have taken place here in Metro Detroit, we cannot allow the normalization of threats and intimidation targeting the Jewish community. We applaud Beverly Elementary and Principal Fairchild for taking this incident seriously and for clearly naming antisemitism when it appears. We urge a full and thorough investigation and expect that those responsible for spreading hate will be held accountable.
