SUMMARY:A Pro-Israel Discussion with the Pink Haired Pizza Girl Caroline D'Amore
DESCRIPTION:What does a good Catholic Italian girl from LA have to say about Israel? Well\nquite a bit — and she’s got a lot of people listening. If you’re not one of\nCaroline D’Amore’s 141K Instagram followers\, then please let us introduce you\nto the Pink Haired Pizza Girl! Caroline is the owner of “Pizza Girl”\nrestaurant in Venice Beach and has appeared on _Hell’s Kitchen_ with Gordon\nRamsey. We’ll enjoy an Italian-\nthemed dinner at Soul Café and learn a bit about the café as well as the Soul\nStudio. \nThe Loop is a Federation initiative focused on engaging with and bringing\ntogether Jews living in the westernmost suburbs of Detroit (think Walled Lake\,\nNorthville\, Novi\, Commerce\, Plymouth)\, but all are welcome to attend. \n$50 per person includes discussion and dinner.\nSpace is very limited. Please register in advance. \n**More about D’Amore**\nCaroline D’Amore is not only a successful entrepreneur but also a passionate\nactivist. She has been vocal about various social issues\, particularly\nstanding up against hate and antisemitism. After a powerful post she shared\nwent viral\, Caroline began using her platform to advocate for the Jewish\ncommunity and fight all forms of hate. She has since traveled around the\nworld\, speaking to organizations\, colleges\, and online audiences\, encouraging\nothers to take a stand against intolerance and prejudice. Her activism is\nrooted in her personal experiences and commitment to creating positive change\,\nas she continues to inspire others to speak up and get involved in meaningful\ncauses. Through her efforts\, Caroline has become a voice for unity and\nequality\, alongside her work as the CEO of Pizza Girl. \nThe Loop is powered by the Gerson Innovation Fund. \n**Thank you to our Leadership**\nThe Loop Co-Chairs:\nSara and Scott Bernstein\nJessica and Danny Klein\nDanielle and Aaron Ruskin \nBill Goldstein and Jayme Kirschner\, Affinities Department Chairs \nView event on Jlive: https://jlive.app/events/9331

SUMMARY:Death Over Drinks
DESCRIPTION:The many mystical and meaningful Jewish traditions that surround death weren’t\nexactly covered in Hebrew school\, which is pretty unfortunate\, because they’re\nsome of the most interesting (and comforting) practices in our culture. Think\nit’s about time you learned a little about death in Judaism? How about over\ndrinks? Then you’ve come to the right place! Whether you are curious about\nshiva etiquette\, want to get some background info for when you become a\nmourner\, or are interested in learning how to comfort friends and family\nduring a loss\, this conversation is for you. We’ll be joined by Rabbi Jennifer\nKaluzny of Temple Israel to learn the basics about how Judaism conceptualizes\ndeath and how tradition teaches us to interact with one another during times\nof grief. \n$10 per person includes one drink on us and snacks. \nThis event is intended for young adults ages 21 to 39. \nThank you to our chairs:\nAdina Goss & Daniel Cohen \nView event on Jlive: https://jlive.app/events/10134
