“Humor is just another defense against the universe” – Mel Brooks

Start exercising your facial muscles for some serious laughing, as we invite you to a special program for Purim exploring Jewish Humor.

What makes Jews so funny? And how did “The People of the Book” turn out to be superstar writers, producers and comedians? The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit is thrilled to host the Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv where we will take a lighthearted look at the origins of Jewish humor and the major contributions of Jews to the rise of a global industry.

Join us on Sunday, February 28th at 11am for an inside look on the recently inaugurated world’s largest Jewish Museum and the exhibition “Let There Be Laughter: Jewish Humor Around the World” featuring Museum CEO Dan Tadmor.

There are prizes, too! Dress up in your best Purim costume or decorate your COVID-19 mask and bring your best Jewish joke. Best costume and best joke will win a Federation sponsored prize!

Let’s have some fun. Please register today.
