October 30, 2020 @ 6:30 PM 7:30 PM

While everyone else is watching scary movies on Netflix, we’re taking a more traditional approach to getting the hairs on our arms to stand up on end. From golems and demons to magic and the afterlife, The Well’s Rabbi Jeff will share some spooky stories right from the pages of Judaism’s ancient texts. Meet us on Zoom for a short Kabbalat Shabbat service before our creepy cocktail hour where Rabbi Jeff will show us how to whip up some seasonal beverages while he tells a few frightening tales.

For this event, we’ll be learning through three different cocktails. Make one, two or all three! Two of the three drinks will have nonalcoholic options. Note that these recipes make enough for two drinks. Here’s what you’ll need:

The Vampire – The drink you’ll be scared to drink!
Serves 2
1 cup raspberries*
2 tbsp sugar*
2 ounces of vodka
1 ounce amaretto
1 ounce orange juice
3 ounces of club soda
2 syringes
(For the nonalcoholic drink sub the club soda and vodka for raspberry flavored club soda)
*These ingredients will also require a saucepan and a stovetop

The Curse – The drink that will make you afraid!
Serves 2
2 ounces tequila
1 ounce lemon juice
8 blackberries
4 leaves fresh sage
1 teaspoon maple syrup
1 dash orange bitters
(For the nonalcoholic drink sub the tequila for limeade)

The Haunting Spirit – The drink that will be a spiritual experience!
Serves 2
Your favorite Bourbon
Pure Maple syrup
Fresh orange
Amaro of your choice! (Bitters will work, too)
Rosemary stems
