$5,000+
The Lion of Judah was established in Miami in 1972 as a symbol to recognize a new level of commitment to the Jewish community by a dedicated group of women. These women knew that to shape the future they envisioned, they would have to contribute to the community accordingly. At that time, only 16 women qualified for this level of giving, personally pledging $5000 or more to the Jewish Federation. Today, more than 13,000 women throughout North America, Israel and through Keren Hayesod proudly wear their Lion of Judah pins to declare their commitment to the preservation and growth of the worldwide Jewish community.
The Lion of Judah pin is a symbol of sisterhood, shared values, connectedness, leadership and power. It provides a benchmark for women to continue to advance into new spheres of giving tzedakah as they achieve greater economic success. And, it allows women to take active roles in securing their Jewish future.
There are special events held throughout the year to recognize donors at the Lion of Judah level. For more information, please contact Marion Freedman.
