July 10: Wandering Jews

July 10, 2014 | Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit

Good afternoon from Yotvata!  At the end of my last post yesterday, we were on our way to Kibbutz Meshabai Sadeh.  Upon arrival we had free time to rest, explore, and swim.  A very tired group arrived at dinner around 7pm in anticipation of going to bed early.  Around 7:45pm we were interrupted by a warning siren in the area.  The teens and staff all remained in the dining hall on the kibbutz until the all clear signal was given.  While a siren does not equate to a rocket, the staff decided to switch hotels last night and move farther South to take proactive precautions.  As always, the teens safety is our main concern. You may expect a phone call from your teens today.

Currently, we are just outside of Eilat visiting a safari and will be staying at Kibbutz Ketura through Sunday.  As always, if you have any questions, please call the Teen Mission office at 248.642.5617 or email Alicia Felhandler at felhandler@jfmd.org.

Until next time…
