It’s a Mitzvah. Indeed!

June 6, 2013 | Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit

Spreading cheer and good deeds throughout the community on Sunday, June 2nd, Federation’s Women’s Philanthropy held its annual program – It’s a Mitzvah.  The goal of the program is to provide family-friendly, hands-on opportunities to perform acts of loving kindness through local Jewish and non-Jewish social service agencies. In addition, the program strives to introduce volunteers of all ages to the day-to-day work of Jewish Federation and its partner agencies.

With nearly 300 participants lending helping hands across 20 different volunteer sites – including Fleischman Residence, JCC,  Yad Ezra, the Danto Health Care Center and Lafayette Greens,a downtown urban garden –   It’s a Mitzvah was a success, in spirit and in deed.
