Shabbat Message for September 11th

The leadership & staff of Women’s Philanthropy wish you and yours a happy, healthy new year!


Thursday was a busy day for many in Women’s Philanthropy. The Jewish Working Women’s Series Committee met to continue planning their fall event. Co-Chairs Nancy Glen, Nancy Stone, and Lisa Weiner along with Associate Chair Marla Kaminsky and Vice-President Linda Spigelman led the committee in a great discussion. We are all looking forward to their next event scheduled for Wednesday, November 18th at noon featuring Harriet Rotter speaking on “The 5 Friends Every Woman Must Have.” Mark your calendars now!

Next, the Coffee Talk leadership (Co-Chairs Dona Stillman and Caryn Weitzman, Associate Chairs Andi Nitzkin and Ellen Tenner, and Vice-President Linda Spigelman) met to continue planning their three sessions this year. The first one is October 7th! Check out the upcoming events below to learn more and register.

Letter Writing continued on Wednesday and Thursday mornings this week, and an additional 150 letters were personalized and mailed. THANK YOU to Doris August, Roz Blanck, Randi Sakwa, Linda Spigelman, Phyllis Subar, and Trudy Weiss.

By lunch, we were meeting with the Board Engagement leadership – Co-Chairs Betsy Heuer and Natalie Newman, Associate Chair Sue Curhan, and Vice-President Randi Sawka. Together, they are hard at work brainstorming new and exciting ideas for Persuasive Women and the upcoming September 30th Board Meeting. They are shaking things up and creating not-to-be-missed meetings!

Finally, 2016 Pomegranate Co-Chairs Amy Berlin and Fran Newman met to discuss the fall Pomegranate Event. Many great suggestions were discussed and we are moving ahead with an idea that is sure to be a draw!

… And all of that took place in just one day! It is safe to say that everyone is looking forward to a restful Shabbat!
