Shabbat Message for October 4, 2013

October 4, 2013 | Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit

A new study recently conducted at Brandeis University estimates our American Jewish population at 6.8 Million adults and children. This number is larger than expected. Most of the adults identified themselves Jewish based on religion, but about 1/3 considered their background or some other criteria as their Jewishness. Not surprising, the largest percent (20%) live in New York State with 13% living in NYC. We have about 67,000 Jews living in Metropolitan Detroit and we at Federation strive to provide services for all of our fellow Detroit Jews. We hope you will help us reach out to the ones who are unfamiliar with Federation and invite them to participate with you at one of our next events.

» Here is an interesting interactive website for more details on the study.

Wishing you and your loved ones a Sweet Shabbat Shalom,

Lisa
