Shabbat Message for May 20

May 20, 2016 | Roz Blanck

Women’s Philanthropy had its 70th Annual Meeting, where we acknowledged and thanked Past Presidents, the 2015-2016 leadership, and installed 2016-2017 leadership. We thanked Roselyn (Roz) Blanck for her wonderful, impactful years of service to Women’s Philanthropy, and welcomed in new President, Leah Trosch and Campaign Chair, Sue E. Kaufman.

Special thank you to Natan Sharansky, Chairman of the Executive, Jewish Agency for Israel and Jeannie Weiner who spoke about the Detroit community’s role in advocating for the release of Soviet Jews and the local resettlement efforts for 7,000 Soviet Jews in Detroit.

Thank you to the Ruach Choir of Hillel Day School for entertaining the women by signing two beautiful songs about how we can change the world.

Thank you to Board Engagement Leadership, Sue Curhan, Betsy Heuer, Natalie Newman, Randi Sakwa, and Karen Simmons.
