Shabbat Message for March 14

March 14, 2014 | Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit

Dear WP Supporters,

As Purim arrives this week, let’s remember its meaning of destiny and responsibility. Queen Esther started her life as a poor Jewish orphan, yet her beauty opened the door to her Queen’s status and this role sealed her fate as a Jewish hero. When asked to step up and help save our people from annihilation, at first she refused until her uncle Mordechai convinced her of her destiny…the reason she was selected as Queen. She shouldn’t just sit in the lap of luxury; she was meant to save her people and change the world. We all have opportunities in our paths that invite us to get involved. It is our job to watch out for these openings and to step up to help in whatever way we can. Don’t let your destiny slip past when the opportunity comes knocking at your door. Each of us has the ability; to make a difference and be of value to the world. Here is a wonderful video that crystalizes this messages:

Wishing you and your family a Sweet Shabbat Shalom,
