Shabbat Message for July 3rd

July 3, 2015 | Roz Blanck

We hope that you enjoy your holiday weekend with family and friends!

It has been a quiet week in Women’s Philanthropy but planning will be underway in the next few weeks to kick-off our summer and fall events. Stay up-to-date by following the Women’s Philanthropy (facebook.com/jfmdwp) and Federation Facebook (facebook.com/DetroitFederation?fref=ts) pages!

Last week, campers from Federation’s Partnership Region in Israel landed in Detroit to join first session campers at Tamarack’s Camp Mass. The Israeli Camper Program, now in its 15th year began back in 2002, during the Intifada in Israel. At the time, Detroit community leaders decided to bring 325 Israeli youth from Federation’s Partnership2Gether Region to Michigan to participate in a Jewish summer camp experience at Tamarack Camps. Today the annual Israeli Camper Program, in partnership with Tamarack Camps, continues to be an extremely positive experience for the approximately 85 Israeli campers and local host families alike.
