Shabbat Message for January 24

January 24, 2014 | Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit

As we commemorate both Martin Luther King day (last Monday) and International Holocaust Remembrance Day (this Monday) we must help perpetuate the messages of Peace, Understanding, Hope and Freedom. We must remember the evils of our history so as not to repeat them in our future. We must remember and honor the lives lost to hatred and ignorance. We must keep vigilant to prevent genocide and discrimination from creeping into our global society. This is the mission of MLK, Anti-Defamation League, Yad Vashem and our Holocaust Museums. It is our responsibility to teach these lessons to our children so Hatred can be eliminated in our future.

Wishing you a Peaceful and Sweet Shabbat Shalom,

Lisa
