Shabbat Message for January 23

January 23, 2015 | Roz Blanck

On Monday, the Max M. Fisher Building was closed in observance of Martin Luther King Day. Last week, the JCRC (a Federation agency) put together a great program for staff in the building featuring Carlton Winfrey, the City Editor at the Detroit Free Press and his daughter, 17 year old Karli Winfrey who is a senior at Mercy High School. Karli was among 30 high school students from Michigan to participate in a summer Freedom Tour in 2013. She talked about the other teenagers on the trip that she got to know.
