Shabbat Message for January 10

January 10, 2014 | Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit

The Polar Vortex crippled most of our nation this week. It delayed my return flight from NYC Monday afternoon by 20 hours and added a stopover in DC, but thankfully I arrived home safely. Metro Airport was a zoo when we landed Tuesday afternoon, with a huge line to the help desk and red canceled lights flashing on the departure board. I hope all of you and your loved ones are safe and warm during this blast of bitterness. Through it all, our brave Federation staff held down the fort and continued the important work of Tikkun Olam. Bravo to all the souls who battled the elements for the benefit of all Detroiters.

Wishing you a Sweet and Warm Shabbat Shalom,
