Shabbat Message for December 12
December 12, 2014 | Roz Blanck
Sunday was a busy day for us! Almost 200 men, women and children gathered at Adat Shalom to put together and deliver Chanukah packages for the residents of senior living facilities outside of the Jewish community. Over 500 packages were created!! Amazing.
Following TOV, we had a successful phone-a-thon/note-a-thon where 30 gifts were secured by 8 women and several notes were written. (See below for a shout-out to these women).
On Wednesday, we had our December Board meeting and (eventually) we had a great conversation LIVE with Naomi Rockowitz in Israel. The technical problems were frustrating but hearing from her was well worth the wait. Also, Jennifer Levine talked about the new online database the Leonard N. Simons Archives has developed. The website is www.jewishdetroit.org/archives.
Community Connections will begin at the end of April. If you – or someone you know – have not participated in this program we highly recommend it. Contact Megan Topper at firstname.lastname@example.org for to inquire about getting an invitation.
