Shabbat Message for August 14th

August 14, 2015 | Roz Blanck

On Tuesday night, approximately 60 women gathered at Nancy Stone’s beautiful home in Huntington Woods for the Jewish Working Women’s Series (JWWS) 3rd annual Networking program. This continues to be a highlight of the series with many new faces coming to meet and greet women from all aspects of business including real estate, medicine, sales, law, education and nonprofit, and several entrepreneurs joined us too. JWWS is proud of the many connections that have been made over just a few short years. Save November 18 for the next JWWS program, 5:30 pm- more information to come! Thanks to Nancy Glen, Nancy Stone and Lisa Weiner, JWWS chairs, and Marla Kaminsky, JWWS Associate Chair, and Linda Spigelman, JWWS Vice-President, for their hard work in ensuring the program’s success.

On Thursday, the TOV (Tikkun Olam Volunteers) Committee met for the first time for the 2015-2016 year! Under the guidance of the TOV leadership, Co-Chairs Susi Schoenberger and Jen Freedland, Associate Chairs Sharon Resnick and Beth Snider, and Vice-President Randi Sakwa, the TOV committee is preparing for our Rosh Hashanah Packages Program on Sunday, August 23 at Pitch for Detroit and Tuesday, August 25 at the Federation. We also set the date for the Chanukah Packages Program on Sunday, November 22. There is still time to join the committee and take part in the planning and organizing of TOV’s events. If you would like to join the committee, or for more information, please contact Judy Lansky at lansky@jfmd.org.
