Shabbat Message for April 25

April 25, 2014 | Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit

Dear WP Supporters,

Monday is Yom HaShoah, the official day in Israel when the victims and heroes of the Holocaust are remembered. It has been commemorated since 1953 when it was first established by Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion. Israeli shops are closed and solemn shows and music are broadcast on the TV and Radio. It is also a time when thousands of Israeli High School students join Jews from around the world to visit Auschwitz with Holocaust survivors and participate in the March of the Living to prove to the world that the Nazi plan failed as we are a strong growing peoplehood and Nation. Next year women from our community will join the March of the Living on our Mosaic 4 Mission. In addition to Poland we will also travel to Berlin. Please reply to this email if you are interested in joining us. There is more info about the trip further down in this email.

Wishing you a Sweet Shabbat Shalom,

Lisa
