The Gift of Jewish Books for Jewish Children

Give the gift of Jewish learning to the child in your life… for free!

PJ Library

Imagine an envelope coming to your home addressed to your children with a special book just for them to turn bedtime into time to snuggle with a book (and a parent)! Then picture meeting other families with children who are experiencing the same thing! That is the gift of PJ Library!

PJ Library, a national book and Jewish family engagement program, sends high-quality, age-appropriate Jewish books and music to families each month — with no strings attached. PJ Library in Detroit is available to families with children, ages 6 months to 8 years, living in Oakland, Macomb, Wayne and Livingston Counties.

This is a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, made possible through partnerships with The D. Dan and Betty Kahn Foundation, The H.R. Kaufman Family Foundation, other local philanthropists and the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.

PJ Our Way™!  Growing up with Jewish Reading!

The Newest Chapter of PJ Library® and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, PJ Our Way offers the gift of exceptional books with Jewish themes to kids ages 9-11 – books that they choose themselves! Every month, kids can visit the PJ Our Way website to choose a book from a selection of titles that have been reviewed by a panel of educators, parents and kids. That’s 12 FREE BOOKS a year!

Kids can go to the website to take polls and quizzes, participate in monthly interviews and challenges and can comment on blog posts.  They can also create book trailers and videos to communicate with peers about the books.

AND… they can join together for local programming and book clubs!
