About Tamarack Camps

Tamarack Camps gives teens the opportunity to be on their own, making decisions, taking responsibility, living with others, and learning new skills all while exploring their Jewish identity.

Camps and Trips

Camp Maas:
Teens entering 9th grade will be in Maas Specialty Village or Charles N. Agree Outpost Camp. Located at Camp Maas in Ortonville, MI, it is a Jewish overnight camping experience in which campers choose to specialize in one concentration of either dramatic arts, waterfront, sports, or fine arts. The highlight of the summer is the trip to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Mackinac Island.

Camp Kennedy:
For teens entering 10th and 11th grades only. It is located on Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where teens swim, waterski, learn how to expertly canoe and camp out, and explore the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Lake Superior. The highlight of the program is a thrilling canoe camping trip in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota. A limit of 24 campers guarantees an exceptionally fun time, where life-long friendships are made.

Teen Service Staff (T.S.S.)

This program is offered for teens entering 11th grade. For the first six weeks, these first year staff members are exposed to and trained in different areas around camp, as both specialists and bunk counselors. After observing the various parts of camp, T.S.S. are then able to choose their own placement for the last two weeks. The highlight of the program is a week long trip as a cohesive group, which includes camping and other fun activities.
