FedEd (Federation’s Adult Learning Department) offers a wide variety of courses for adult learners in a non-denominational environment. Areas of study include Bible, Talmud, Jewish history, Hebrew language, literature, ethics, culture, Yiddish, and philosophy. Through partnerships with area congregations, organizations and institutions, we are able to service a large segment of the Jewish community. Each year FedEd publishes a fall and a winter/spring catalog with over 50 course offerings each semester.

Melton: Can a 4,000 year-old text speak to a 21st Century world? Find your answers with other “Wondering Jews” through The Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning. Explore “Jewish” by using biblical and contemporary texts to connect our past with the present, in a thought-provoking, dynamic environment. Click here for more information.

Melton PEP (Parent Education Program) is the core Melton program designed especially for parents of young children between the ages of newborn through eighth grade. PEP students strengthen their understanding of Judaism in order to nurture their child’s growing identity.

Scholarships: Through a generous grant from the family and friends of Susan Robin, the Susan R. Robin Memorial Scholarship is available for students in need of financial assistance. Additional scholarships are also available through the Detroit Friends of Melton and Jewish Federation.
